My client is a well know market leader in the sports & leisure industry. For over 40 years their distribution network has been servicing the industry with a growing national footprint across Australia. Due to an internal restructure, they are looking to appoint a Head of Logistics to oversee a new site they are building in Western Sydney. This is an amazing opportunity to join a forward-thinking business, and impact how the site is set up, and build the team moving forward.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Logistics will be required to oversee:

  • The strategic direction and operating model for Logistics, Warehouse, and Installation
  • Performance, cost, and risk outcomes at a functional level
  • Holds accountability for the scalability, safety, and compliance of logistics and installation operations across the Eastern Region
  • The role has delegated authority to redesign workflows, systems, vendor models, and organisational structures within the function, escalating matters of material enterprise risk or capital significance to the Executive Team

Role details:

  • Oversee warehouse (~5,200 sqm) and associated NSW locations
  • Govern inbound logistics including: ~200 inbound containers per annum; air freight operations; and NSW deliveries and QLD interstate transfers
  • Lead and develop logistics and installation teams and functional leaders (approx. 14 people).
  • Own WHS and safety governance across logistics, warehouse, & installation
  • Lead commercial negotiations with 3PLs and logistics providers within strategic parameters
  • Oversee the data integrity of the Warehouse Management System (WMS)

You experience:

  • 10+ years in warehouse and logistics, managing teams of 10+
  • Pragmatic with good people skills with excellent communication
  • Understand the importance and be able to report on KPI
  • Ability to judge each issue on its merits and push be confident to push back where needed.
  • Always looking at continuous improvement and implementing new Process and System changes.

Warehouse Administration Officer – Inbound

  • Monday to Thursday 5.00am-1.30pm

The Warehouse Administration Officer (Inbound), will be responsible for the daily transport of inward goods of a large warehousing business. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a previous role, be flexible with hours and demonstrate a firm understanding of receipting inward good and data entry.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Taking booking/timeslot for Incoming deliveries
  • Data Entry into our SDSR
  • Learning our Systems i.e. JDE and Manhattan (SCALE)
  • Checking Invoices against supplied and receipted lines
  • Raising Supplier claims on Shortages, Damaged Goods in Transit, Short Dating, Over Supplied, etc.
  • Attention to detail with advanced Accounting knowledge on Item Ledger on matching transactions
  • Answering Accounts Emails on Invoice queries and action in a timely manner
  • Working on short deliveries and notify Suppliers on variances
  • Both systems should tally upon cross-checking and if needed raise ticket with Supply Chain.
  • Helping Receivers on PO issues and liaising with Buyer’s on further perusal
  • Updating IBT Reconciliations Reports daily
  • Priority orders upon deliveries especially on back orders
  • Assisting our current 2IC in Receiving at Lytton Site then relocation to Willawong Site in June.
  • Including all Inbound/Receiving tasks.
  • Adhere all OHS requirements within the business

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must have safety boots
  • Own car/vehicle
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Use of RF scanners an advantage
