Labourpower is currently seeking process workers and machine operators to work for our client located in Brendale. These roles will vary between being ongoing and on call roles. The roles will be starting immediately.

A range of different shifts are available such as morning, afternoon and night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for an on-going work for the right candidate, with potential for training and upskilling.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Monitoring manufacturing machines to ensure they are running smoothly and reporting any faults

You MUST have Full Working Rights to work and reside in Australia and be able to work 38hrs per week.

Leading Hand- Fabrication section

About the position

This position will be 90% based on the factory floor, 10 % office based, you will be supervising 3 direct reports and dotted line to 15 employees which are made up of permanent and casual employees. This position is Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, over time as required, some requirement to work across afternoon shift when necessary. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Duties include but not limited to the following:

  • Managing a small team then overseeing other employees as required, providing clear instructions, training and support, ensuring new employees are provided with support and on the job training.
  • Sound knowledge of fabrication processes
  • Running machines, fabrication work, checking quality of work before sending to next department
  • Ability to read technical drawings and plans
  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Be able to multitask
  • Intermediate computer skills ( excel, word )
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Essentials for this role:

  • A minimum of 1 year consistent experience in a manufacturing Leading hand role
  • A mechanical trade qualification EG: Boilermaker, 1st class welder, sheet metal fabrication
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • A drivers license and working rights in Australia

Factory Supervisor – Fabrication & Coils Section

About the position

This position will be 70% based on the factory floor, 30% office based, you will be supervising up to 20 direct reports and which are made up of permanent and casual employees. This position is Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, over time as required, some requirement to work across afternoon shift when necessary. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Duties include but not limited to the following:

  • All facets of people management of up to 20 employees, providing clear instructions, training and support, ensuring new employees are provided with support and on the job training.
  • Leading by example whilst on the tools
  • Delivery of production plan to quality standards
  • Ensuring the safety of all employees by conducting toolbox talks, on the job training, hands on with running of machines, tools and equipment.
  • Training of apprentices
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Essentials for this role:

  • A minimum of 2 years consistent experience in a manufacturing supervisory role
  • Be able to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly & fabrication instructions
  • Competent in systems such as Syteline, Skytrust, SAP, MS Office & excel
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent people management skills with a proven track record
  • Ideally you will have a trade qualification in welding, fabrication or similar or experienced with LEAN manufacturing
  • A drivers license and working rights in Australia

About the role:
We are seeking a switch on High Reach Forklift Operator to work within a large manufacturing company in Hornsby, NSW.

This is an interesting physical role within a manufacturing/Industrial environment and as such it can get hot/cold as well as dusty/dirty.

To be successful:

Full-time availability (Monday – Friday, 38+ hours per week) – No part-time positions

Purchasing Officer

  • $40.56 per hour casual rate

The Planning and Purchasing Officer is responsible for the co-ordination and accurate data capture of inventory levels (including raw materials and finished goods). The Planning and Purchasing Manager also supports the production planning role and complete the purchasing activities of the plant to ensure all customer requirements for reliable supply of product are met in accordance with forecasts and orders in the optimum way.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of raw materials to fulfil demand driven from customer and production orders.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing or FMCG
  • Monitoring inventory levels and assisting in the replenishment stock as needed.
  • Monitoring raw and finished goods inventory management, stock transfer incl. stock holdings, cycle counting, etc.
  • Tracking inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock (OOS).
  • Conducting proactive inventory analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in inventory management.
  • Provide coverage for the production planner whilst on leave
  • Escalate any material shortages or planning shortfalls to designated stakeholders

Planning

  • Provides coverage for the site production planner which involves enacting the plan and providing feedback and communication to all key stakeholders.
  • Review daily delivery schedule report and notify all relevant parties on late deliveries.
  • Monitors production output, inventory, customer orders / forecasts, material supplies and trends in the above to ensure all customers’ requirements are met.
  • Weekly / Monthly Resin Forecast review with Divisional Supply Chain Manager (C&I/PACT Packaging)
  • Creates all new product codes and maintains accurate BOM’s & Routes for the planning system.
  • Coordinates the sites inventory stocktake schedule.
  • In collaboration with the Production Manager, Production Scheduler and Purchasers, ensure the required raw material volume delivers the production schedule.
  • Escalate any foreseeable issues/changes in raw material and/or finished goods.
  • Continually review performance to identify and implement cost improvements.

Purchasing

  • Is responsible for Purchasing all components for Production, RM, IML Labels, Fans, Cartons Bags, Labels etc.
  • Creation of Purchase Orders based on MRP requirements
  • Tracking & following up on POs imminently due & overdue (both imported and local – daily)
  • Communicate ETAs for incoming materials (components)
  • Purchasing of all consumables for site
  • Maintain all purchasing records – SAP and Coupa
  • Receival of bulk resin deliveries and GR into SAP
  • Coupa Management
  • Esker (invoice resolution – daily)

Preferred Personal Attributes/Competencies:

  • Several years’ experience in a similar or related role
  • Strong analytical and people leader background
  • Computer Literacy Skills
  • Forklift License (desirable)
  • Previous experience with SAP (desirable) and strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience of warehouse operations
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the use data, knowledge, and experience to identify problems and proactively develop and implement effective solutions.
