Factory Supervisor – Fabrication & Coils Section
About the position
This position will be 70% based on the factory floor, 30% office based, you will be supervising up to 20 direct reports and which are made up of permanent and casual employees. This position is Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, over time as required, some requirement to work across afternoon shift when necessary. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Duties include but not limited to the following:
- All facets of people management of up to 20 employees, providing clear instructions, training and support, ensuring new employees are provided with support and on the job training.
- Leading by example whilst on the tools
- Delivery of production plan to quality standards
- Ensuring the safety of all employees by conducting toolbox talks, on the job training, hands on with running of machines, tools and equipment.
- Training of apprentices
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Essentials for this role:
- A minimum of 2 years consistent experience in a manufacturing supervisory role
- Be able to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly & fabrication instructions
- Competent in systems such as Syteline, Skytrust, SAP, MS Office & excel
- A proactive mindset with the ability to think outside the box
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Excellent people management skills with a proven track record
- Ideally you will have a trade qualification in welding, fabrication or similar or experienced with LEAN manufacturing
- A drivers license and working rights in Australia
