Container Unloaders | Casual | Western Suburbs

Labourpower is expanding our casual workforce across Adelaide’s western suburbs to support growing demand in container and freight operations.

We are seeking reliable and physically fit Container Unloaders for casual assignments within busy distribution centres and freight depots. These roles are best suited to candidates who are dependable, safety-focused and comfortable with consistent manual work.

About the Role

  • Manual unloading of shipping containers
  • Sorting, stacking and palletising freight
  • Manually shrink wrapping and labelling
  • General warehouse support duties
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

This is a hands-on role requiring repetitive lifting and strong physical endurance.

Shift Times

Most assignments commence from 7:00am, with typical finishes between 2:30pm – 3:00pm (varies depending on container volumes and client requirements).

Pay Rate

$31 – $33 per hour + Super (dependent on experience and assignment)

To Be Considered You Must Have

  • Proven experience unloading containers or performing heavy manual labour
  • Ability to safely lift up to 20-25kg repetitively
  • Strong work ethic and reliability (consistent attendance is essential)
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics or freight environments (highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety
  • Availability for Monday – Friday day shifts
  • Reliable transport
  • Willingness to complete Drug & Alcohol screening, Reference and Criminal History checks

Forklift Licence (LF) is advantageous but not essential for these roles.

    Finance and Administration Officer

    • $37.13 per hour inclusive of casual loading
    • Full time hours Monday to Friday 8.00am-4.30pm
    • Commencing ASAP
    • 6 month term
    • Dynamic and energetic working environment

    The position of Accounts and Administration Officer will provide support to both the Finance Manager/State Accountant and the regional operations stakeholders. This role includes but is not limited to assisting with all month end reporting
    functions, budgeting, forecasting and any other ad hoc duties to assist the state accountant. Minimal reception and cash office coverage will also be part of this role in instances where support is needed during leave or absence of
    responsible people.

    Primary Roles and Responsibility:

    • Provide assistance to the State Accountant
    • Assist in the End of Month Process
    • Preparing/Submitting Journals
    • Running General Ledgers
    • Assist with SAI- System Updates
    • Assist with cost/Stock Reviews
    • Preparing monthly reconciliations
    • Assist running monthly reports
    • Assist in budgeting/forecasting for both operations and capex (Capital Expenditure Process)
    • Ad hoc duties to support the State Accountant
    • Reception coverage & Cash Office Support
    • Answering the Switch Board Calls
    • Managing the reception email box if needed
    • Greeting customers & contractors
    • Ensuring customer & contractors are signed in to Rapid Induct
    • Paying and assisting customers in the cash office if needed
    • Reviewing Purchase Orders, Requisitions with the help of Purchasing Officer
    • Demonstrate personal responsibility for all Safety, Health, Environment,
    • Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives
    • Support diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, and teamwork
    • Support measures designed to effectively manage costs and adherence to budgetary requirements
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality requirements
    • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to job
    • Support training and performance-management initiatives

    To be successful you will need to demonstrate:

    • Basic experience in bookkeeping or accounting
    • Working knowledge of financial concepts and process
    • Basic understanding of scrap metal processing (desirable but not essential)
    • Knowledge of business systems including but not limited to Microsoft
    • Office, SAI, SAP (Training for the right candidate will be available)
    • Proven customer service and communication skills
    • Experience with Microsoft and Accounting software
    • Time management / organisation skills
    • Ability to be flexible in approach to work, be able to set and achieve
      deadlines
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and show initiative
    • High Attention to detail
    • Show a willingness to learn
