We are currently seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst to work with e reputable power tool company in Pemulwy. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in data analytics and have a dynamic “can do” attitude and be a proactive employee when learning tasks and processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect, cleanse and analyse data from multiple business systems, including ERP, financial and operational sources.
- Cut, manipulate and transform large data sets into structured formats suitable for reporting and analysis.
- Validate data accuracy, identify anomalies and resolve inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models, reports and dashboards.
- Create KPI frameworks and reporting templates to support key business functions.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
- Automate recurring reporting tasks where possible to improve efficiency and accuracy using Power Apps or Copilot workflows
- Establish data definitions, templates and documentation to ensure consistency and ease of use.
- Organise and maintain data sets in a logical and scalable format.
- Utilise AI tools(Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate data analysis, improve data quality and streamline reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing reporting and analytical processes.
- Recommend practical solutions to improve efficiency and business visibility
- Work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service and Operations to understand data and reporting requirements.
- Present findings and insights in a clear and concise manner.
- Deliver agreed project outcomes within the three-month contract period
- WHS responsibilities can include maintaining a safe system of work in the workplace including correct lifting methods.
- Complying fully with the Makita (Australia) Occupational Health & Safety Policy Statement.
- Obeying all relevant safety, health, and environment legislation.
Required Skills
- Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in a Data Analyst or similar role.
- Experience working on short-term projects with the ability to deliver outcomes quickly and independently.
- Experience working with data from ERP, financial and operational systems
- Experience in handling unstructured data
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, data modelling and dashboard creation.
- Strong data cleansing, transformation and validation skills.
- Experience creating structured databases, data models and reporting frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL and the ability to query and manipulate large data sets.
- Practical experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis, improve data quality and automate reporting tasks.
