Purchasing and Supply Chain Assistant

  • $37.13 per hour inclusive of casual loading
  • Monday to Friday 8.00am-4.30pm
  • Casual role for up to 6 months – potential for extension to permanency
  • Epping Location

The Supply Chain and Purchasing Assistant is responsible to ensure support of the Warehouse and Procurement team via control of administration duties required to ensure that the K Care Supply Chain continues to run efficiently and effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Uphold company values at all times through interactions with all staff, key stakeholders and customers
  • Assist with the creation and processing of production and assembly orders.
  • Utilise Excel at an intermediate level to manage data and reports.
  • Handle general office duties and provide customer service as required.
  • Conduct freight bookings with multiple carriers and assist with invoicing.
  • Support purchasing activities, no prior experience required but would be advantageous.
  • Employ problem-solving skills to address challenges within the supply chain.
  • Participate in training and development programs
  • Undertake other duties as directed

Demonstrate a commitment to Quality Management System and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 compliance including but not limited to;-

  • Complying with QMS and ISO requirements

Preferred Personal Attributes/Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with invoicing and freight bookings is highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Purchasing Officer

  • $40.56 per hour casual rate
  • Monday to Friday 7.30am-3.30pm
  • Moorabbin location
  • Free on site parking

The Planning and Purchasing Officer is responsible for the co-ordination and accurate data capture of inventory levels (including raw materials and finished goods). The Planning and Purchasing Manager also supports the production planning role and complete the purchasing activities of the plant to ensure all customer requirements for reliable supply of product are met in accordance with forecasts and orders in the optimum way.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of raw materials to fulfil demand driven from customer and production orders.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing or FMCG
  • Monitoring inventory levels and assisting in the replenishment stock as needed.
  • Monitoring raw and finished goods inventory management, stock transfer incl. stock holdings, cycle counting, etc.
  • Tracking inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock (OOS).
  • Conducting proactive inventory analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in inventory management.
  • Provide coverage for the production planner whilst on leave
  • Escalate any material shortages or planning shortfalls to designated stakeholders

Planning

  • Provides coverage for the site production planner which involves enacting the plan and providing feedback and communication to all key stakeholders.
  • Review daily delivery schedule report and notify all relevant parties on late deliveries.
  • Monitors production output, inventory, customer orders / forecasts, material supplies and trends in the above to ensure all customers’ requirements are met.
  • Weekly / Monthly Resin Forecast review with Divisional Supply Chain Manager (C&I/PACT Packaging)
  • Creates all new product codes and maintains accurate BOM’s & Routes for the planning system.
  • Coordinates the sites inventory stocktake schedule.
  • In collaboration with the Production Manager, Production Scheduler and Purchasers, ensure the required raw material volume delivers the production schedule.
  • Escalate any foreseeable issues/changes in raw material and/or finished goods.
  • Continually review performance to identify and implement cost improvements.

Purchasing

  • Is responsible for Purchasing all components for Production, RM, IML Labels, Fans, Cartons Bags, Labels etc.
  • Creation of Purchase Orders based on MRP requirements
  • Tracking & following up on POs imminently due & overdue (both imported and local – daily)
  • Communicate ETAs for incoming materials (components)
  • Purchasing of all consumables for site
  • Maintain all purchasing records – SAP and Coupa
  • Receival of bulk resin deliveries and GR into SAP
  • Coupa Management
  • Esker (invoice resolution – daily)

Preferred Personal Attributes/Competencies:

  • Several years’ experience in a similar or related role
  • Strong analytical and people leader background
  • Computer Literacy Skills
  • Forklift License (desirable)
  • Previous experience with SAP (desirable) and strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience of warehouse operations
